Our Work by Type
The Guttmacher Institute is a primary source of research and policy analysis on abortion, contraception, HIV and STIs, pregnancy and teens in the United States and internationally. The Institute also brings an evidence-based perspective to key policy discussions and tracks sexual and reproductive health–related legislation and policies at the federal and state levels in the United States.
Guttmacher publishes a policy periodical (Guttmacher Policy Review) and two peer-reviewed journals (Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health and International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health), and leads two major initiatives: one to advance the role of research in informing public health policies and programs through the Guttmacher Center for Population Research Innovation and Dissemination and another to ensure that sexual and reproductive health and rights are given priority in the global development agenda through the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
